Wine-making at home, prompted by the price of wine in England compared to the "Retsina" in Greece, this is a pun on 'still'. This study of reflection on the demijohn and carafe was multiplied by adding two glass balls (formerly used by fishermen?) into the scene. See also 'Still Life with Bottle' (Cat. No. 154) for an earlier treatment of a similar study.
