Unfinished painting. PBB was inspired by music which can be seen throughout his work. He has made paintings of musicians, concert halls and illustrated themes from operas and classical scores. Here the orchestra were practising Haydn's "Creation", See also 'The Trumpeter' (Cat. No 0257).
