0083 Iseult

After some touring of Cornwall and with earlier interest in Wales, Paul began to illustrate some of the Celtic myths which also include Northern France and Ireland, as these pre-historical tales were set in different Kingdoms from those we know today. "Iseult is wearing Celtic gold jewellery of Irish make. It will be remembered that she was brought from Ireland to become the wife of Mark, King of Cornwall." P.B.B.1987. She is shown here as troubled with the Royal duty of honouring her betrothal to Mark, and her love for the younger Tristan.
