Painted just after a devastating fire had destroyed large areas of Ludshott common. On a walk through the pathways some of the detritus was revealed without the vegetation to conceal it. The figure is stopping to pick up a piece of glass (as it was believed that the fire was started by the sun hitting a piece of glass) - however in reality she cut herself on it.
