"Hippolytus, falsely accused by his stepmother, Phaedra, was banished by his father, Theseus. The chariot driver returns with the report that Poseidon, in the form of a bull with his white horses, scared his own team who dragged Hippolytus to his death. Looked at closely the rocks can be seen both as a bull and the head of Poseidon" PBB,1987. This is the second rendition of the story (See Cat. No. 0708).
